读了大半年的书，在kindle上要5万多页，看了几个小时进度才增长1%，多少是对耐力的考验。著者和译者当然更是付出了辛勤的努力。 最开始看到这本书，应该是某次在商务汉译学术名著系列的书柜前看到过标题，后来知道了那是节译本，在网上还下了英文版，不过和其他很多书的英文版...  

说实话，西方人写的历史著作我一般不爱看，一来西方人写得太细了，一来懂得外语的翻译者，却不是一个合格的中文书写者。而吉本这部书，如果一定要我评价，我认为只有司马迁的《史记》可相提并论。罗马帝国在西方历史上，如汉唐之于我国。而罗马之分裂和中国的持久统一，构...

早听说吉本写的罗马帝国衰亡史相当的不错，国内译本属于缩译本。看看怎么样。。。。。。。。。。。看了好久阿，还是要好好学习
