一個女人和三個男人的故事。我看愛得最強烈的還是那個最不吸引人的助手。可惜女主人公不愛他。天纔鋼琴傢嘛，挺感性的，也通情達理，隻是有點溫吞水。相較而言，我倒是覺得女主人公喜歡他有點莫明其妙。黑手黨老頭老牛吃嫩草，又通情達理，本是英雄人物。可惜烈士暮年，...

和西德尼謝爾頓的其他作品一樣，這本書是非常成功的暢銷書。情節緊湊吸引人，一拿起來就放不下。等飛機、坐地鐵的時候看最閤適，可以很快的投入進去而感覺不到時間的流逝。其他的要求就不要太高，思想深度啦，哲學基礎啦談不上；消磨時間，愉悅身心足以。

一口氣讀完的書，如同當年在大學裏，迷上西德尼謝爾頓，好幾本書都是一氣讀完，有的在後來還專門找來，如《鑽石王朝》，特意從孔夫子舊書網買瞭一本，放在手裏。這本書其實也很精彩，人物和故事情節都塑造得不錯，足夠的麯摺，足夠的懸念，不過，對我來說，吸引力不如以前。...

看瞭幾本Sidney的書以後再看這本，缺少瞭一些驚喜，文字一貫的簡潔流暢，情節麯摺生動。但都是一種模式，總是一個美麗無比，傢境坎坷卻頗具纔乾、滿腹抱負的女主角，如何從卑微的社會地位走嚮令人炫目的成功。在這披荊斬棘的道路中所作的一個冒險決定會成為隱患，並在小說結尾全盤爆發，然後女主角辛苦掙來的一切都化為須有。不過，這本小說的結尾還是讓我吃驚瞭一下，並且安排瞭一個好結局, I like that!!

基本上能猜到結局。除瞭幾個主角，最欣賞的人物是Lara的秘書Marian，善良又聰明。“I think i understand her better thanyou do. Lara is maddly in love with you.She would do anyting to hold on to you.""let's forget all this, If you bring this up to her, it won't do any good, and it will only make things worse between the two fo you, i can easily find another job","life is not always fair"
