3-4，不明白为什么有人可以觉得DREISER不认为嘉丽堕落……但越堕落越空虚是真的——不过，人家好歹算成功了，“上岸了”（参照《黑镜子》ep2）！不用受一种折磨就接受另一种。语言文风故事什么没啥可说，大家都知道的美国淫民的老掉牙，但是恒定不变的道理还在那。

如果真的可以从事翻译职业的话，这是我目前为止想最想翻译的第一本小说。Sister Carrie前半部分写的真的特别好、一度觉得自己的风格和Dreiser很像。但从Carrie被“拐跑”这里开始，就更注重情节发展而忽略了人的性格和心里刻画。我猜想，也有可能是作者在提醒我们现实越来越险恶，面对失业和贫穷，我们已经无法再去在乎内心的感受了吧。

故事的结局出乎我的想象，Carrie从一个乡下小女孩，渐渐变成了大明星，但Hurstwood从一个中上层酒吧经理沦落成乞丐，一开始出现的Drouet始终都保持着微微向上的社会地位。 三种不同的人生... 怪就怪词汇量太不丰富了，以至于好多很赞的描述心里活动的段落没怎么看明白。 下次重看...
