Emilia Fox infuses Anne's voice with a level-headed bravery and uses a mix of British accents and intonations to inform listeners of the social class and personalities of the rest of the large class. An excellent job, marred only by her tendency to make all men speak in a husky whisper. A.C.S.

读后感

还记得初中英语课上，一向慈祥的英语老师竟对一群会背《出师表》，能算相似三角形，却不知《尼罗河上的惨案》为何物的“优秀学生”嗤之以鼻。后来得知这是一本侦探小说时，我心里暗想有什么侦探小说能比得上《福尔摩斯》呢。 若干年过去了，我依然不曾有机会读读这本英语夫子心...  

在阿婆的小说里，《褐衣男子》虽然名字土，但却是最具少女情怀的一部，比同时期的《暗藏杀机》更加具有浪漫情怀。 说起名字，本书还有段趣闻。一开始阿婆是给报社供稿，报社建议取名《米尔庄园的秘密》，但阿婆喜欢《褐衣男子》，双方争论不下，报社又建议改成《女冒险家安妮》...  

“献给E•A•贝尔彻，谨以纪念一趟旅行，几则捕狮故事，以及你提出的‘写写米尔庄园’的要求。” ——这是我在《褐衣男子》上写题记，其实真正写出来的故事和米尔庄园没有什么关系，捕狮子的过程也完全没有提及，至于我亲爱的朋友贝尔彻先生，噢，他在书中的角色，和现实中...  

是和《暗藏杀机》比较类似的一本，更偏重于富于浪漫精神的冒险，充满活力的爱情，大胆和运气一类的。是阿婆年轻时的少女幻想吗? 人物众多，在误导读者方面下了不少功夫，有点太过狡猾令人生气……不该忽略安妮“怀疑每一个人”的反复强调吗?
