A type system is a syntactic method for automatically checking the absence of certain erroneous behaviors by classifying program phrases according to the kinds of values they compute. The study of type systems--and of programming languages from a type-theoretic perspective -- -has important applications in software engineering, language design, high-performance compilers, and security.This text provides a comprehensive introduction both to type systems in computer science and to the basic theory of programming languages. The approach is pragmatic and operational; each new concept is motivated by programming examples and the more theoretical sections are driven by the needs of implementations. Each chapter is accompanied by numerous exercises and solutions, as well as a running implementation, available via the Web. Dependencies between chapters are explicitly identified, allowing readers to choose a variety of paths through the material.The core topics include the untyped lambda-calculus, simple type systems, type reconstruction, universal and existential polymorphism, subtyping, bounded quantification, recursive types, kinds, and type operators. Extended case studies develop a variety of approaches to modeling the features of object-oriented languages.

跳過瞭各種證明 ...

起初是沒有太明白書中的內容的。即使是擁有Haskell的基礎，在研讀時仍有各種疑惑，對於證明習題也是充滿瞭恐懼和不知如何開始。 最感謝的莫過於OPLSS 2018的pre-session，在上課的過程中不知不覺建立瞭對於各項type rules的直觀理解，在其後再次迴顧這本書各項內容都變得簡單易懂。但有趣的是，雖然Computational Type Theory被Bob Harper稱為最符閤直覺的，在最後一周的講座中基本沒有聽懂其內容。 但也正是通過在OPLSS和其他在讀PhD的交流中，意識到瞭安定的研究生活其實不為我所想要，CS這一學科也至多隻是個人的愛好而已。雖然現在依然未明確生活目標，但CS終將也隻是達成目標的過程而不是最終的結果吧。接下來一年的學習方嚮會轉嚮經濟和程序分析。
