亨利‧赫兹利特（Henry Hazlitt）美国20世纪最重要的经济专栏作家，《福布斯》杂志总编辑斯蒂夫•福布斯尊称他为“20世纪最杰出的经济新闻人”，当代“自由至上主义者”运动的重要参与者，奥地利经济学派的重要成员。他曾供职于《华尔街日报》、《纽约邮报》，后来又为《纽约时报》撰写经济方面的文章。1946～1966年，他在《新闻周刊》开设固定专栏，撰写经济学普及文章，引导数百万读者了解经济学基础知识，传播自由经济理念，影响力极为深远。《一课经济学》是他的第一本重要著作，这本书1946年一出版即成为当时的畅销书，至今已被翻译成8种文字，在全球销量早已突破百万。他一生勤于写作，撰写了18本专著和无数的评论文章。其重要著作还有《道德的基础》、《凯恩斯经济学批判》等。

Considered among the leading economic thinkers of the “Austrian School,” which includes Carl Menger, Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich (F.A.) Hayek, and others, Henry Hazlitt (1894-1993), was a libertarian philosopher, an economist, and a journalist. He was the founding vice-president of the Foundation for Economic Education and an early editor of The Freeman magazine, an influential libertarian publication. Hazlitt wrote Economics in One Lesson , his seminal work, in 1946. Concise and instructive, it is also deceptively prescient and far-reaching in its efforts to dissemble economic fallacies that are so prevalent they have almost become a new orthodoxy.

Many current economic commentators across the political spectrum have credited Hazlitt with foreseeing the collapse of the global economy which occurred more than 50 years after the initial publication of Economics in One Lesson . Hazlitt很诚恳，时时不忘提醒自己和读者：this is an introduction book for general economics. 很多我们（中国人）司空见惯的政府对经济操控的事实和做法仔细分析看来都是short sighted fallacies.
