mestrovic这本书里提出一个概念：postemotional society，这和afteremotional 又不一样，大量借用西方马克思的文化批判思想将大卫里斯曼的他者导向与马尔库塞 happniess 等关联，试图超越现代性二元论下的情感与理性关系，同时又希望保持理性探索的可能，因而拒斥诸如后现代的虚无理念，这样即借用了后现代符码的逻辑导向又能够激进化现代性本身，为情感研究的规律追求提供可能，但是作者似乎并不待见埃利亚斯，历史维度对他来说相对受到弱化，比较可惜，因为再埃利亚斯看来，非正式的情感现代化早就发生了，这并非简单后工业社会概念简单阐释的
