虽然不喜欢勃朗特家族中的大姐（可能是因为不喜欢简爱的缘故），但不得不承认她的文笔是三姐妹中最优雅纯熟的。小说可以写的如诗歌一般美，而且把这世间的爱恨情仇写的细致但不做作。个人认为结尾章简直堪称维多利亚时期最美的小说结局。
