这本书从图书馆借来有一个多月了，还没有读。

虽然政治性确实强了一点，但是里面的小人物的故事很是稀饭，而且燃起了我看英文书的兴趣。。。语言简单易读，但有些故事确实荡气回肠的。。

比较喜欢《The Princess of Nebraska》和《A Thousand Years of Good Prayers》，作为李翊云第一次发表的处女作，《Immortality》并没有惊艳的感觉。李翊云这部短篇集里的人物比较脸谱化和棋子化，倒是末尾那篇作者自述《What Has That to Do with Me?》very touching，值得加颗星。

短小的故事...现实的无奈...人性的真善美

可能是因为科班出来的原因，"design"痕迹很重。1.主题先行。为了做到把下岗，证券交易，养老，同性恋，京剧，贵族学校，近亲结婚生出唐氏综合症，贪污入狱等各种民生问题面面俱到，在每个人物上安排了单个或多个元素，显得过于戏剧化。2.文体上可以看到安德森，谭恩美，玛丽莲罗宾逊等前人的痕迹，也许是模仿，但这种风格是我喜欢的。3.intended reader绝对是西方人，读不出陌生化。4.摆出问题，但没有提供出口。虽然说了一大堆“坏话”，但还是很喜欢这本书。在全景式展现二十世纪前后国民对现代化和生存现状做出的negotiation和努力这一方面，liyiyun做得很好。
