郭小櫓，1973年生於浙江溫嶺石塘鎮漁村，18歲就讀北京電影學院，獲學士及碩士學位，寫劇本，做電影導演，發錶小說和影評，齣版有文集《電影地圖》、《電影理論筆記》，小說《芬芳的37°2》、《我心中的石頭鎮》和電影劇本《我媽媽的男朋友是誰》等。2002年起旅居英國，至今拍瞭六部長短片，包括紀錄北京申奧期間的《嵌入肉體的城市》，獲法國巴黎“國際人權影展”大奬、描寫城鄉及歸鄉情結的《今天的魚怎麼樣？》，獲2007年法國 Créteil“國際女性影展”評審團大奬，以及藉由雙親的東西行旅透視文化衝突的新片《西行之路》等。

受推薦看瞭該書，能受到好評讓人很是疑惑。整本書為全英文，對於前半部以支離破碎的英文所錶達內容和情緒,以及為何會産生那些broken english，恐怕隻有中國人或者有中國式思維的人纔能引起共鳴吧。但是呢，這本書所錶達的一些意識形態以及對中西方差異的描述，與其說誇張矯情...

最早看到郭小櫓這個名字應該是在早期全盛時期的城市畫報,她寫關於電影的小品文,以電影碩士的身份,後來消失,或者隻是我失去瞭閱讀這份畫報的耐心.今年當這個名字再次進入視野,就已經是在主流英語媒體瞭,報道這位進入Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction 決賽的中國留英女作...

the main role...i can't find a word for her really..she's kinda a person with unbelievable and almost impossible charactor for a human who live on earth!!well...i have to say she's sometimes funny and so lively...but yes,as the 入江直樹has said...false innocence and reckless is what i don't like about her..and the start of "we chinese...":D

The way how the author presents the different perspectives between the East and the West, unfortunately, falls into a stereotypical angle. Nevertheless, it's a book that serves the purpose of easy reading. The purposefully "bad" English is sometimes annoying though (definitely not an entry book for language learners.)
