读的是1855版，被第一首四十页长诗惊到了（毕竟以前看的中文版都是小短诗）free verse的确像是把prose拆分，加上imagery和无数的parallel (which, though, I deeply love)/ 还是喜欢浪漫主义的，尤其是这种既有广泛的奇思妙想又有些许现实隐喻的（后续版本政治太多（虽然他自己说诗人不能不有政治上的自由观念，且经历完了内战，难免），反倒没有这么迷人了）/ perface写得极好（遗憾的是不可避免地manifest destiny了），甚至超过了作品本身
