David Bordwell is Jacques Ledoux Professor Emeritus of Film Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a master's degree and a doctorate in film from the University of Iowa. His books include The Films of Carl Theodor Dreyer (University of California Press, 1981), Narration in the Fiction Film (University of Wisconsin Press, 1985), Ozu and the Poetics of Cinema (Princeton University Press, 1988), Making Meaning: Inference and Rhetoric in the Interpretation of Cinema (Harvard University Press, 1989), The Cinema of Eisenstein (Harvard University Press, 1993), On the History of Film Style (Harvard University Press, 1997), Planet Hong Kong: Popular Cinema and the Art of Entertainment (Harvard University Press, 2000), Figures Traced in Light: On Cinematic Staging (University of California Press, 2005), The Way Hollywood Tells It: Story and Style in Modern Movies (University of California Press, 2006), and The Poetics of Cinema (Routledge, 2008). Kristin Thompson is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a master’s degree in film from the University of Iowa and a doctorate in film from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 评分首先这本书绝不是入门之选。 作者所讲述的各个话题,采用的是讨论和探讨的形式,里面经常会假设你懂了一些电影方面的知识。 其次,他讲述一个话题时,没有一个总体的描述,往往是描述其中的几个典型情况。这也是评论的样式,而不是教科书的形式。对于初学者,只会更加迷惑。
评分有时候看英文原版摸不到头绪,结果查译本更加迷惑不解了。翻译的挺一般的,可以说很多地方翻译的让人实在无从理解。 挑出来做病句题倒是容易了考生。可能翻译也尽力了吧,艺术类的书籍是比较难译一些。近些年起,艺术类书籍和相关文献的翻译问题显得越来越重要了。
