David Bordwell is Jacques Ledoux Professor Emeritus of Film Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a master's degree and a doctorate in film from the University of Iowa. His books include The Films of Carl Theodor Dreyer (University of California Press, 1981), Narration in the Fiction Film (University of Wisconsin Press, 1985), Ozu and the Poetics of Cinema (Princeton University Press, 1988), Making Meaning: Inference and Rhetoric in the Interpretation of Cinema (Harvard University Press, 1989), The Cinema of Eisenstein (Harvard University Press, 1993), On the History of Film Style (Harvard University Press, 1997), Planet Hong Kong: Popular Cinema and the Art of Entertainment (Harvard University Press, 2000), Figures Traced in Light: On Cinematic Staging (University of California Press, 2005), The Way Hollywood Tells It: Story and Style in Modern Movies (University of California Press, 2006), and The Poetics of Cinema (Routledge, 2008). He has won a University Distinguished Teaching Award and was awarded an honorary degree by the University of Copenhagen. 1960年代是世界电影的爆炸年代，也是电影学正式走进大学的时代，在电影文化兴盛，电影被奉为真正独立的艺术的年代，虽然已有着如爱因汉姆.、克拉考尔、巴赞、克拉考尔等经典理论大师和新一代影评人、电影人各种论述著作。但非常明显，电影学的建设是一切从零开始，论述全面...  

有时候看英文原版摸不到头绪，结果查译本更加迷惑不解了。翻译的挺一般的，可以说很多地方翻译的让人实在无从理解。 挑出来做病句题倒是容易了考生。可能翻译也尽力了吧，艺术类的书籍是比较难译一些。近些年起，艺术类书籍和相关文献的翻译问题显得越来越重要了。  

看这本书是因为这是上个学期学电影学的教科书,不能好看不好看,因为它是知识类的，但我只能说,实用类的. 里面是大多数电影的拍摄手法,我当时看完这本书的时候的感受是: 我也许可以去当导演了... 其实电影都是这么拍出来的... 对我的意义深远..  

这本教材比《认识电影》会深一点，为什么这样说呢？因为作者有一个电影形式系统的框架：电影的形式系统（叙事和非叙事）和风格系统（场面调度、摄影、声音、剪辑），也就是"Form and Style"，对框架的理解是一个阅读门槛。当然，如果能理解作者用意，会发现这样的框架对展开电...
