G1 is a collection of contemporary graphic design like no other. G1 gathers innovative work from many of the world's most influential designers, and then omits their names from the pages. G1 presents some of the very best of high design and mixes it with raw vernacular graphics, the found images that inspire designers.

G1 gives the reader the choice as to whether to see graphics as "authored" works or as part of the exciting continuum of communication that is art direction and design today. While identities are detached from the images, they are available on printed stickers bound into the book for the reader to attach if desired.

G1 also invites and provokes readers to follow a journey in space and time. The projects included are placed in sections of two-, three- and four-dimensional design. A supporting text explains the ideas that link the pieces, while the main introduction examines the major themes that appear to excite today's most cutting-edge graphic designers.

G1 includes magazine and book design; new media-both internet and CD-Rom, posters; type and typography; packaging,; signage and identities; and more.

G1 is not a book for the passive. Rather the readers are invited to interact with the book to make it their own.

都不好意思寫書評，就隨便說兩句吧！我覺得自己沒資格評價它。 它真的很不錯。市麵上的設計圖書盡管角度不同，但是大都介紹相對流行的設計作品。這本區彆於所有的設計圖書（不能用立意新穎這樣的屁話評價），介紹的是最具前瞻性的作品。即便10年之後的現在，讀起來仍然獲益匪淺。
