读的是前面一部分理论框架。democratization关键是public politics的变迁，其中表现为categorical inequality和trusted networks的重构，变化动力来自社运。足够全面足够有启发性的模型，也确然是社会学家关注实质而非形式机制设置的作风。其实他这里说的democratization带上了nation-building的意义。为了写论文拎着头发往里面找东西的时候会感觉，看不出state capacity和protected consultation的尖锐碰撞，似乎没啥用。不过，他也志不在此，他的state capacity强调的是打破local信任结构、削减身份不平等的意义，这点上说现代中国的问题足够“简单”了。。。有时间还是要重读的呢。。。
