这本书算的上是相机收藏参考书里的“圣经”。用网上一些书评里的话来说：如果你只能拥有一本关于相机收藏的书，那就是这本了。

该书收录的相机资料极为丰富，作者宣称有很大一部分相机的资料从未在其它书里出现过。难能可贵的是作者多年来一直在不断补充新资料，每几年就会推出一个新版本，结果这本书象雪球一样越滚越大。现在最新的是2001－2002年的第11版，内容超过900页（大开本），介绍了25000多部相机，图片达6000多幅。也有谣传说这将是最后一版，希望不是真的。。。

书里对每部相机的介绍文字并不多，但很实用。除生产时间、性能指标等基本情况外，还特别注意说明同一系列不同型号之间的细微差别，这对于相机鉴别很有帮助。该书另一个特点是每部相机都给出了新近的收藏价格。虽然该价格往往只能作为一个参考，但当你在遇到一部从未见过的相机的时候，能够知道一下大致的价格就已经很有用了。

书是好书，售价也不便宜，约100美元，不过仍然是物有所值。
