By unearthing pictures of these men and women which have previously been lost, suppressed or hidden, the book goes beyond the often carefully constructed public image to reveal sides of their lives and personalities that they, or their advisers, preferred to conceal. In each of the ten chapters, author Robin Muir tells the tales behind the pictures, including famous or forgotten shoots and the stories of lucky amateur photographers.
