不見得是jan gehl的集大成之作，但是相對係統的介紹瞭public life study這個學科的方法論、學術發展史以及研究在不同尺度（街道、區域、城市）的應用，算是比較簡潔輕鬆的入門書籍，對於重新梳理1960s以來城市規劃設計中齣現的一些重要思考和論著很有幫助。

本想看研究方法，結果水的不行。後麵的綜述還可以，講瞭從sitte開始的城市空間研究。喜歡urban life和space二分的視角，但總體就很基本，大概適閤本科看。
