一年行將過半，才終於看完了本年度第一本書，而且是一本只有120頁kindle的劇本，而且是因為我下個月要去看它。非常壓抑又非常歇斯底里，低氣壓到無法呼吸，被一個秘密摧毀的一家人。但這個故事還是適合結合時代來看吧。如果沒有對作者和當年背景的了解，算是有些費解。不知道香港話劇團這版會排成什麼樣子了。

不敢说自己读懂了，但是创造了非常印象深刻的stage images。 Dodge被金黄的玉米皮掩埋，Shelly机械地削胡萝卜，Bradley把自己的手放进Shelly的嘴里，Vince一边唱歌一边砸碎酒瓶，Bradley在舞台上爬行追逐自己的木制假腿，Dodge悄无声息地死去、Vince将玫瑰花放在他胸前，Tildon手捧着婴儿的尸体…甚至包括我们看不到的，那片长满了玉米、胡萝卜、土豆和豆子的后院，“也许是因为阳光，也许就是这个原因”。

属于细思极恐后劲比较大的那一种荒诞故事中难逃的经典主题：disillusion of the American Dream and the breakdown of morality and ethics in America 混合了超现实和种种意象进而营造一种creepy and gloomy的氛围
