Speed and Politics (first published in France in 1977) is the matrix of Virilio's entire work. Building on the works of Morand, Marinetti, and McLuhan, Virilio presents a vision more radically political than that of any of his French contemporaries: speed as the engine of destruction. 这本书是Virilio的早期著作，很多后期看得莫名其妙的东西这里都有解释。比如对logistics的关注其实就是冷战阴影下发射核武器的速度决定了战争中的生死，然后溯源到了古代战场上的移动决定胜负的观念，不只是拿破仑的思想被反复引用，克劳德维茨、孙子等军事理论家都被引用。速度才是维利里奥的重心，后期开始以这个为起点生发到了媒介和电影领域，其实军事才是最根本的内容。本书生词好多，就内容来说，建议直接读最后一章。
