前大半本書中波洛確實為瞭培養警察的能力，而鮮有直接給齣推理的部分，更多地是警察和波洛搜尋證據過程中呈現齣來的由不同人錶述齣來的故事，私以為這樣的安排是非常閤理的。在讀的過程中，我常常去想這些人講的是同一個故事嗎？這些人是否因為自己的情感或者身份而撒瞭謊？仔細去閱讀凶案的場景和每一個人的錶述，發現破綻並不是不可能的，而是自然而然的，因此我覺得這本書的設置足以讓讀者跟著一起去推理。某種角度上，讀者正像是波洛有意鍛煉的警察，總是忽略一些重要的證據，總在瞭解一些事實或證據後就停止瞭進一步的思考和推理。放棄追問，意味著永遠無法得到答案和真相。而追問，雖然令人苦惱，但確是一件很有趣的事。
