看老邱介绍的，不过令人关注的是afterword的John Le Carre ；有趣如小说但人物较多，容易看乱，看完书再看一遍老邱的那集开卷，感觉老邱没怎么细读读过

近年来Burgess，MacLean和Blunt都有很不错的传记问世。但为剑桥spy ring中最关键人物的Philby作传的人倒是不多。严格来说这本书不是一本传记，也并没有用到太多第一手的新材料，但是作者不愧是记者出身，真的会讲故事，本书阅读的体验是非常棒的。不过仅仅以friendship这个视角来演Philby和Elliot之间的故事，虽然增加了可读性，但让整本书显得略单薄了。指责Philby的背叛是容易的，但却是思想上懒惰的—某些为Philby、Burgess、Blunt和甚至Graham Green所共同接受的观念，本书几乎只字未提，而这显得尤为可惜。

在kindle上看的，不确定是不是这个版本。感觉虽然作者找了很多资料，但是最后面拒绝见philby挺可惜的

英美法系的国家，几百年没有自上而下的集权统治传统，整个国家机器的运行机制在我们看来都是很奇怪的。Kim这个人，为了所谓信仰，可以出卖一切，真不知道该夸赞他是真信徒，还是没人性。
