這一部的故事局限在一個星球上，四個POV加一個interlude有點多餘。事實上如果你隻看Holden和Elvi的章節完全不影響理解。全書充滿瞭冗長，自作聰明，毫無意義的對話，以及過度的心理描寫。讓人懷疑作者是來騙稿費的。最初的三方博弈顯得膚淺而刻意，幾章之後belter方徹底從博弈中消失瞭，衝突變得更加簡單粗暴，反派動機根本站不住腳。人物刻畫非常單薄，對Elvi的描寫難以讓人接受。最後的幾章也許纔是真正有趣的部分，可惜無法挽救整本書的失敗，僅作為係列中的一部，還能勉強接受。
