本•伯南剋（Ben S. Bernanke）

前美國聯邦儲備委員會主席。2009年《時代》雜誌 “年度風雲人物”，連續三年入選福布斯全球人物權勢榜前十（2011~2013年），執掌美聯儲8年，成功帶領美國度過大蕭條以來最惡劣的經濟危機。

2002年被美國總統小布什任命為美聯儲理事。2005年6月，擔任美國總統經濟顧問委員會主席。10月被任命為下任美國聯邦儲備委員會主席。伯南剋是知名的宏觀經濟學傢，主要研究興趣是貨幣政策和宏觀經濟史。他是美國藝術與科學學院院士和計量經濟學會會士。曾編著《宏觀經濟學原理》、《微觀經濟學原理》等教材。 2014年2月，伯南剋加盟布魯金斯學會，參與經濟研究項目，重點關注經濟復蘇政策。

最近半個月的地鐵讀物。美聯儲前前前主席Paul Volcker的《力挽狂瀾》，前前主席Alan Greenspan的《動蕩的世界》，前主席Ben Bernanke的這本《the courage to act》，三本集齊，湊齊完整的經濟周期。實話說，這本書收獲不大，可能是因為之前已經看過很多關於08年金融危機的書和電影，作為危機時期的美聯儲主席，本書並沒有提供多新鮮的信息，作為1930經濟大蕭條研究專傢，對於這次的金融危機卻似乎也束手無策。最近兩天在看日本野村證券首席經濟學傢辜朝明《大衰退》，從“資産負債錶衰退”（Balance Sheet Recession）角度分析世人所謂的日本“失去的十年”（現在是二十年。。）提供瞭完全不同於以往那些經濟學傢和IMF的視角，讓我有很多思考。

這是第三本讀完的描寫08金融危機的大部頭。不同於Andrew Sorkin那本劍拔弩張頗有電影劇本感覺的Too Big To Fail，也和Hank Paulson字裏行間洗白白的自傳有不同風格，前聯儲主席Bernanke的這本迴憶錄從他上任一直講到危機後聯儲為經濟復蘇做的各種努力，細節翔實易懂，不妄加褒貶(除瞭某些政客)不帶感情色彩。
