Lauren Sompayrac, PhDDr. Lauren Sompayrac was born in Jacksonville. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received a B.S. degree in physics in 1963, and a Ph.D. degree in elementary particle physics in 1969.After two years of postdoctoral research in particle physics, he moved to Copenhagen where he was a Postdoctoral Fellow for two years at the Microbiology Institute.Returning to the United States in 1973, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pathology at the Harvard Medical School where he studied tumor viruses.In 1976, he moved to the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado to continue his work on tumor viruses, eventually rising to the rank of Research Professor before his retirement in 1998.In retirement, he writes science books, and is the author of How the Immune System Works, published by Blackwell Science in 1999.

太有趣了，讲细菌病毒感染后身体的反应，从临床免疫现象入手分析基础免疫原理，和人卫教材先基础后临床的思路互为补充，但细节上有些不同，可能是免疫学更新太快的缘故。

读过第二版加一，就算不是相关专业的看着玩也不错，专业课拿来入门和启发也很好。

这本书真的太有趣了，以前记不住的免疫学知识点能记住超级多，果然理解和死记是不能比的。
