非常棒的一本成人漫画书，我的第二本。在podcast里听到跟作者的面谈，几乎是一口气看完的。家族史写成这样已经非常感人的了。尤其是其中的一页用的是真实的相片。

很多地方都似乎是先写了脚本，然后再配图的，word-specific作品。这直接导致很多地方的图像更像是插图（有利有弊，好的方面是隐喻的图像多了），而且由于作者技法表现能力有限，人物画得没有区分度（这也是图像和文字的区别，图像在限定内容方面有时候差于文字，但不是所有时候都这样；文字总是有选择的，图像更完整却也更模糊），部分段落讲得不清楚。

读完的第一本英文小说，虽然是graphic novel，一个很好的开始。Thi的父母真的真的太不容易了，能活下来去美国，与好运以及资源，还有家族积累都密不可分，作者也通过写这本书，更理解了父母，喜欢这种跨越时空的故事，时间上有战争做标记，空间上从越南到美国，跨越山海，喜欢。
