雪儿·海蒂（Shere Hite）是美国著名的性学专家。她生于1942年，美国佛罗里达大学历史学士及美国史学士，专攻社会科学与法学，曾在哥伦比亚大学攻读西方思想史博士，后因觉得自己所做的研究计划不被教授重视，念了两学期后即辍学。

她于1976年完成的《海蒂性学报告：女人篇》，引起美国及西方国家重新反省“性”的定义。透过开放式性爱问卷调查，海蒂让女人自在地表达自己对于自慰、性高潮、阴道性交、阴蒂刺激、女同性恋等的看法，道出长久隐藏在以男人主导的性文化背后的另一种声音，呈现最真实的女人性爱生活。

1987年海蒂被《世界年鉴》选为25位美国最有影响的妇女之一，她为世界性科学研究做出了杰出的贡献。
