雪兒·海蒂（Shere Hite）是美國著名的性學專傢。她生於1942年，美國佛羅裏達大學曆史學士及美國史學士，專攻社會科學與法學，曾在哥倫比亞大學攻讀西方思想史博士，後因覺得自己所做的研究計劃不被教授重視，念瞭兩學期後即輟學。

她於1976年完成的《海蒂性學報告：女人篇》，引起美國及西方國傢重新反省“性”的定義。透過開放式性愛問捲調查，海蒂讓女人自在地錶達自己對於自慰、性高潮、陰道性交、陰蒂刺激、女同性戀等的看法，道齣長久隱藏在以男人主導的性文化背後的另一種聲音，呈現最真實的女人性愛生活。
