好像這本書所引發的倫理思考比研究發現更重要，NSH在前言裏不無諷刺地說，她因為寫瞭本普通人能讀得懂的民族誌而拿瞭Mead奬，但正因為普通人能讀得懂，所以她的研究對象讀到瞭這本書，而對書裏內容大為光火，他們在NSH做田調時那麼幫她，結果NSH卻把他們更醜陋、更黑暗的那麵曝光給瞭全世界，所以寫民族誌究竟該為瞭誰好？
