借助着机翻，相对细致的看了最后一章的回应，结合去年暑假看了第一卷第一章就放弃了的内容，感觉还是可以。mann的书是断断续续写了四卷，这四卷中间还出了本民主的阴暗面，长时间的跨度。其次呢，其理论模型的包涵性是比较强的，iemp四个分析维度包括的比较多。面对来自各方的批评和质疑，mann都给出了自己的回答和解释，尽管某些回答看起来不是在说一个层面的东西。其实最令我感受深刻的是，mann对加州学派的反驳，认为资料来源渠道不同，英国经济增长是均匀推进，再到殖民主要是偏政治强制、灭绝而非“赶超”。然后还有就是mann其中在回应一个批评说，他是4-1，别人是1-1感觉还是有点搞笑。还有就是曼最后一段话说的非常好，他认为应当采取悲观和乐观相结合的姿态，各种追求是在动态中进行的，而非目的或者暂时完成。
