第二遍，断断续续两天看完。中间几度要无聊到昏睡过去...culture is JUST taken for granted—先上来说devotion schema is culturally constructed, 但又不说这个culture到底是什么。换句话说这个田野要换个non-western语境，北美学者一句what is culture, why is it important 直接毙掉。全书细碎且多到记不住的grounded theory式案例，作者似乎也没有想对话private/public distinction文献的意思，gender部分老生常谈毫无新意。社会学写作什么时候又能脱离研究者的政治立场？若是真的脱离又怎么能精彩？相比之下Hochschild同题材书真的好一大截。
