Michelle Robinson Obama served as First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017. A graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School, Mrs. Obama started her career as an attorney at the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin, where she met her future husband, Barack Obama. She later worked in the Chicago mayor’s office, at the University of Chicago, and at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Mrs. Obama also founded the Chicago chapter of Public Allies, an organization that prepares young people for careers in public service.

The Obamas currently live in Washington, DC, and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

平淡吧。除了媒体勉强报道的几个标题党也真是没什么了。Michelle的家教很像典型的开明严格亚洲家长。成长也很像ABC啊所以单看并没有什么惊奇的。写到遇见奥巴马之后都像是奥巴马的传记了，也真的没办法，这么杰出的一个女人的生活变成了围绕别人转，只因为奥巴马实在更出色。当然作为第一夫人来说她真的是做得很不错，几个initiative都很成功，但是这些我们都知道了嘛。所以成功和story worthy 并不需要很大关系

極其開誠佈公的回憶錄。Michelle不愧是當今女權的標竿。平庸的出身和不懈的努力造就了她。她敢於直面遭受過的不公平的人身和人格攻擊，但是仍然可以用冷靜和理性的態度回應。They go low , we go high. 從字裡行間中可以感受到她對Barack深厚的愛和支持，但同時絲毫沒有放棄自己的事業和夢想。沒有Michelle就不會有Barack。她認清丈夫參選總統是他的責任而不是榮譽。作為第一夫人她完全清楚她的一言一行對公眾造成的影響，也沒有因為成為第一夫人而產生天經地義的優越感。時時刻刻對身邊幫助過她的人抱有感恩的心。她對政治的厭惡立場堅定，但仍然提倡以積極向上的態度去面對反對和質疑的聲音。有幸在華府參加了她的書會並意外見到Barack本人。推薦她親自讀的有聲書，非常親切。

前两部分特别好看。作为 minority 成长像极了 immigrant 的经历：喜欢跟自己同类的人相处，和主流社会不完全一致的成长经历。一个有趣的例子是 Michelle 住在芝加哥南部，却在25岁之前从来没去过 u Chicago。进了白宫后像 stump speech。

米歇尔自己读的有声书。前面故事就很平淡。就是黑人社区里的绩优生，哥哥也是拿篮球奖学金进普林斯顿。说穷也只是穷到只能开别克的地步了。和Trevor Noah在种族隔离制度下长大的故事怎么比啊……和《乡下人悲歌》类似，美国人地板太高，起点太高。让我们第三世界长大的人民好难代入。后面更垮。整体失望。
