本书的精髓就是介绍给还没开始真正设计的学生和刚开始工作的设计师真正的设计是如何产生的，设计不仅仅岑花一现的创意，其背后支撑的是工程，科学，艺术等综合学科知识的叠加。一件椅子的设计中要考虑为什么场合设计，为谁设计，用什么样的材料，人机工程参数的加入等等...

50个例子中有30个左右选的非常只好，把整个设计的过程都简要的些了一边，另外有10个例子选的一般，另外10个左右比较牵强。从手工制品，到工业制品全部都有了，对一些科技的应用及不同制作工艺的选择也在不少例子中点到。非常值得一看的书！

这是一本非常好的书，原以为那些概念图片只是图片而已，原来都已经做成事物。书中那些原始的图片收集非常珍贵，很多艰难的产品年诞生过程很有启发性。无奈翻译的水平太烂，连最起码的翻译知识都没有，很多语序错乱颠倒，知识照原文字面意思逐字翻译，还有一些专业术语的翻译也...
