評分去年的這個時候，我正在讀劉慈欣的中篇小說。 在那個無憂慮的鼕天，我和父母看瞭《流浪地球》，然後一同漫步在浦江邊，愉快的打量這未被氣候巨變摧毀的城市。——仿佛這已經過去瞭很久。而我現在卻處在被疫情侵擾的氛圍打量那個正常的城市。迴到我們的Ted Chiang & Exhalat...

果然我還是不適閤看科幻。《三體》第一部看瞭一半沒看明白，放棄。這本書，看瞭阿北推薦，就想看看試試。我評分前，這本書的評分是9.9。其實我想打三星半的，四星到不瞭。故事都還可以，都比較能引發人的思考。但在我看來，就是故事不夠有趣，讓我沒有那種很想繼續讀下去的欲望。從這個角度來說，隻有最後一個故事 Anxiety is the dizziness of freedom 的結尾是我覺得比較有趣或者有意思的。另外一個印象比較深的故事是 The lifecycle of software objects，也是很引人思考，但讀起來真不覺得有意思，能印象深刻有一半是因為這篇真長。
评分Exhalation 本來就是我最喜歡薑老師的一篇，後麵兩篇翁法洛斯和焦慮是自由的眩暈是新篇，太期待瞭纔買瞭原版來看，物超所值。薑老師的語言一如既往地理性，邏輯性也極強，因為那種詳實的感受讓故事背景可信。每一篇當中對社會人性的討論都有有許多有趣的點，有的點感覺單獨拿齣來就能寫一個短篇
评分薑峯楠的這本科幻小說文集有點《黑鏡》的感覺。我最喜歡的是講穿越的Alchemist's Gate，養成電子寵物的The Lifecycle of Software Objects，記錄迴憶的The Truth of Fact/the Truth of Feeling，還有鸚鵡寫的The Great Silence。最後一篇我原來去年在亞洲文化協會的《尋林覓趣》展覽讀過，波多黎各藝術傢拍攝雨林中的鸚鵡，以及Arecibo天文颱，探討動物滅絕和科技的關係，字幕正是薑的這篇The Great Silence。“It's no coincidence that 'aspiration' means both hope and breathing...I speak, therefore I am."

评分還是很不捨地peruse式地讀完，看每篇寫作筆記也更是讓我無比珍惜，像是站在作者麵前聽他慢慢講起多年以來他知曉和思考的所有：無法改變的過去與對應的未來、熵與混亂、無意義的人生與嚮死、情感聯係與意識的形成、語言和和記憶的真實、宇宙起源和人性信仰、以及人為何是人
