一肚子牢騷的白邦瑞，當然，全書並非無價值，可以審視走錯的路

不得不說白邦瑞對某國政府的理解可謂是入木三分。某國行之韆年的「權謀」之術在白邦瑞以《戰國策》為理論藍本的剖析下被淋灕盡緻地展現在瞭美國大眾和美國政府的眼前。從另一方麵亦能證明所謂的「帝製中國的歷史慣性」不僅在歷史學和文化研究上能發揮效用，在實際的國際關係問題的運用中也能揮灑自如。可以說是日後中國研究值得深耕的一個亮點。

可以在一定程度上代錶目前西方世界主流是怎麼看中國的，這是propaganda的力量。白邦瑞作為一個美國人，能研究/理解中國到這個程度已然讓人驚訝瞭。但意識形態的差異，不是隔一道牆那麼簡單，而是韆韆萬萬的峰巒與溝壑。整本書看下來，作者還是沒能悟明白“在戰略上要藐視敵人，在戰術上要重視敵人”這句話。
