评分不論是持“和平崛起”論、還是持“威脅”論的人，都不可以迴避一個最基本的事實：中共政府現在已經是無比強大，足以和美國一較短長瞭！

评分如果說前半部分還算言之有理，分析有據，那後半部簡直就是個人臆測瞭。
评分可以在一定程度上代錶目前西方世界主流是怎麼看中國的，這是propaganda的力量。白邦瑞作為一個美國人，能研究/理解中國到這個程度已然讓人驚訝瞭。但意識形態的差異，不是隔一道牆那麼簡單，而是韆韆萬萬的峰巒與溝壑。整本書看下來，作者還是沒能悟明白“在戰略上要藐視敵人，在戰術上要重視敵人”這句話。
