Paul Auster pays homage to Laurence Sterne this time. The Tristram-Shandy-like narration is in itself very compelling, but the protagonists are too flat and lack sophistication, anyway I like his prose style of writing which contributes to form a powerful narrative. In conclusion, it's a novel with many flaws in its logic as well as characters.
