Atiyah称为Jones-Witten理论的梁子。用曲面的微分几何和Witten用Feynman积分构造3维TQFT，从而导出Jones多项式。缺点是跑梁子，几乎没细节。不知道有没有一本有细节的书可以作注释。学微分几何数学物理几何拓扑的研究生两三年能把这本书吃透了，基础知识应该够一多半了

现代数学是有一条主线的：围绕着莫尔斯理论-阿蒂亚指标定理，witten的物理化和Grothendieck的代数化，代数几何与现代物理就这样开始了。本书总体讲解了量子场论和低维拓扑的关系：Witten：四维流形关于杨米尔斯场Donaldson理论和Floer有关看做3+1维拓扑量子场论；琼斯多项式看做2+1维量子场论；把紧流形上的Dirac算子的指标定理解释成loop空间上的形式正则泛函积分Atiyah-Singer指标定理其实是道路空间上的一个简单积分公式。

这书读起来好不舒服，每个主题也只有七八页纸，很多东西都只是简单点一下。。之所以看完全是因为是Atiyah的书。。
