Suppliants portrays the wretched plight of the daughters of Danaus, fleeing from enforced marriage; as refugees they seek protection, and must plead a moral and political case to gain it. And in Prometheus Bound, Prometheus is relentlessly persecuted by Zeus for benefitting mankind in defiance of the god. 僅存的古希臘曆史劇。希臘人從波斯人的視角寫希方的勝利（擬想的演齣中必然視覺效果齣眾，尤其是服裝展現齣來的異域風情；也同Xerxes劇末灰頭土臉衣衫不整形成對照）。結構分配勻稱閤理，情緒推進也因而顯得穩健（恐懼—不詳預感—焦慮—確認災難降臨後哀悼—尋求到解釋後進一步陷入悲慟）。報信人關於海戰的描述堪稱教科書般的戰爭敘事，懸宕筆法，細節精確。對白方麵僅有兩處（皇後與歌隊交流希臘軍隊的即戰力；老國王Darius鬼魂質問皇後戰敗的詳細情況）是交鋒輪替的。「軛/拉近/奴役」的意象以不同形式復現（皇後噩夢中兒子給戰車上軛、波斯大軍不可一世橫跨達達尼爾海峽天塹、意欲奴役希臘人等）。
