“We must learn to suffer more.” 艾略特是克制的，圣徒的，冷静又残忍的。他知道人承受不了多少真实，还扔给你一堆真实。你在断头台前扭过头，艾略特把你的头扳回去让你看。想起《时时刻刻》里伍尔夫的一句话：你要把人生看透，一定要真实地面对人生。写到这里我又想起艾略特一句诗：you cannot face it steadily. 你无法平稳地面对它。
评分和the four quartets应当是差不多时间写的吧一样贯穿关于时间，future & past & changes的思考 - 虽然有不少criticism但应该是Eliot三个play里面我最喜欢的一部 对话和戏剧性和语言/chorus的balance相对最舒服
