4.5当然是极推荐的，但显然毛姆不会是我最喜欢的小说家之一，他有一个让我不舒服的习惯：一个人物刚一出场就把TA从头到脚从里到外交代个遍，这种交代有草稿性质，对于读者接受这个人物帮助不大，而且突兀。The realist is being very unreal here, regarding the cognitive habits of the reader.
