Lost Classics 8th,總體頗有水準的集子，類型也比較多樣，讓我想到瞭布蘭德的那本短篇集，但麥剋洛伊更注重氛圍塑造。後來擴展為長篇的第一篇，格局稍顯宏大的《The Singing Diamonds》，是我最喜歡的兩篇，部分篇目推理較弱，但瑕不掩瑜，不枉一讀。

幾位不明飛行物觀察者的故事上報後沒幾天，均死於非命。《唱歌的鑽石》中的這個謎題很新奇，解答過於異想天開，但還在可接受範圍內。 Basil Willing登場時四十齣頭，Gisela在第二作齣現時纔二十六七，沒想到妻子沒有熬過丈夫。Willing老年遷居波士頓，看到瞭外孫齣世，也算圓滿。
