The Daisy Ducks is the third suspenseful
outing of Doc Adams, Boston dentist and
part-time sleuth, whose Christmas merry-
making is cut short by a sniper attack out-
side his living room window. The target is
Liatis Roantis, Doc s Karate teacher and
friend, whose deadly skills were last used
in Vietnam, where he led a secret com-
mando unit. Convinced that the attack on
Roantis is connected with members of the
unit, the Daisy Ducks, Doc sets out to
track them down one by one in a chase
that takes him from Texas to Chicago and
finally to a survivalist camp in the North
Carolina mountains and a blood-chilling
climax that s as close to military action as
Doc has ever come.
Rick Boyer s first Doc Adams novel won
the 1984 Edgar Award for Best Mystery
Novel of the year.
