作為早期地方法史研究著作，在謀篇布局方麵仍然有藉鑒的意義。不過存在的問題也相當明顯：案例的代錶性問題沒有解決，或者說作者無力解決，進而導緻最後的結論稍顯空疏，感覺作者列舉的材料不足以錶明司法實踐與社會變遷之間的互動關係。這年頭再搞地方法史，不談社會經濟變遷，不引入計量的方法反映和分析訴訟規模，基本都是瞎扯淡
