Clinton Richard Dawkins, FRS, FRSL (born 26 March 1941) is a British ethologist, evolutionary biologist and popular science author. He was formerly Professor for Public Understanding of Science at Oxford and was a fellow of New College, Oxford.

The God Delusion caused a sensation when it was published in 2006. Within weeks it became the most hotly debated topic, with Dawkins himself branded as either saint or sinner for presenting his hard-hitting, impassioned rebuttal of religion of all types. His argument could hardly be more topical. While Europe is becoming increasingly secularized, the rise of religious fundamentalism, whether in the Middle East or Middle America, is dramatically and dangerously dividing opinion around the world. 1、主题是把进化论的研究思路扩展到宗教领域。道金斯称之为文化基因，这也适用于任何人类文化领域。宗教不是一个抽象的概念，不是本体论的东西。它跟动物园的猴子没什么区别，猴子是怎么从复制细胞到鱼类到爬行动物到猴子一步步进化来的，宗教就是怎么一步步进化来的。宗教发展...  

恩~，我虽然没有通读此书，但读过有关片段章节的中文翻译（由柯南翻译的）。我对于作者在无神论上、以及在对待宗教的态度上都非常认同。这也是我喜欢看《Dr.House》的原因，据说那个角色在对待无神论以及宗教的态度上，就参考了理查德·道金斯的理念和观点。  

理查德道金斯对新十诫的补充： 1欣赏自己的性生活（只要不损害他人)同时让他人欣赏自己私下的爱好 2不要歧视或压迫不同的性别、种族及其它物种 3不要向你的孩子灌输。教他们如何自己思考，如何评价证据，如何与你争论 4高瞻远瞩，不要受当下时代的束缚 未知斋译新十诫 ...
