Biggs作为在现实世界身经百战，又好为人师（正面意义）的长---者（而且在耶鲁读的还是文学专业），在去世前两年写的东西充满了hard-won wisdom。只可惜这种用隐晦的方式传达出来的智慧总是被血气正旺的小朋友误解，美亚的上一群打了鸡血的评价就证明很多人没有耐心体会最后一章作者那种心宇将灭万事休的感慨。有种很多人看了了不起的盖茨比以后打鸡血想当盖茨比的既视感。
