He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Pritzker Prize for Architecture and the Gold Medal of the American Institute of Architects.

收录了Meier 2004-2009的作品。感觉迈大爷的思路越来越超脱了，他这些与光线共生互依的建筑（巨型滤光器）不仅在白天与夜晚的光线中创造出形式，还能让光成为形式。他说“运用光线的时候，不能把它视为真实或坚固的材料。光是转瞬即逝的元素……有些人认为我的建筑太开放、透明、充满光，但我却认为，光线还远不够，根本不可能过多。”“若无法察觉到外在世界的光、色彩与气氛，对我将是生活品质的严重损失。”他经常聆听贝多芬，有时会依序播放九大交响曲，从最早的播到最晚的。仿佛这种宏大的交响诗篇组成了他晚期的那些巨型继承了密斯的玻璃大楼。曾风靡一时的他并没有斯蒂芬·霍尔那样的转型。很想听到他说：“这不是白色的建筑物，原因很多，包括基地、气候、空间需求的性质等等。因此难免与我以往的建筑不同。”
