Still reeling from the sudden death of her composer father, thirteen-year-old Katie faces bullies at school, her mother's weird new friends, and a mystery that must be solved before it's too late. At her new school, Katie is dealing with the class bully, and reluctantly making new friends. She's relieved when she makes friends with an older woman who lives nearby, someone who loves the piano nearly as much as she does and her father did.
