有趣的是，在当地文化中纯黑人与女性都是鄙视链底端，作者以一个美国女性黑人的身份进入当地社会实在是太特殊了因为“外国人”而免遭歧视却又能因长相与性别获取亲近。顺便，这本里讲Voodoo的部分太少了… （但是也足够吸引我对witchcraft culture的兴趣了）三分之一都不到还有我其实personally对politics没有很感兴趣…

里面的rituals其实是很发人深思的写作素材但早期的人类学家或许已经在这方面做的很不错了再加上这个society既不primitive也不modern 以至于这本书除了它对黑人女性的共享之外过少地被提起我个人对studies of primitive culture以及早期的ethnography都不是很感兴趣就不打分了吧
