张召忠的翻译文笔不算好，但也只能是这样的行家里手才能把汤姆·克兰西的军事小说精髓把握透彻，全文节奏很紧张，适于一口气读完。

情节不太吸引人继续看，翻译也一般，少有的看不下去的小说。

最早接触到这本书还是96年前后，从大连市图书馆借来的，当然不是这个版本了。那时喜欢的不得了，看了好几遍，后来张召忠翻译版本也看了好多遍。汤姆克兰西在写这本书的时候就是一个业余军迷，所有的内容都是根据公开出版物的信息自己抽取提炼。不得不说，这真是军迷的最高境界啊。
