The Linens of Santa Chiara is an absorbing story about family, friendship, and love. It is the story of Aldo DiLorenzo, and of the ties that bind a noble WWII Italian-American Captain of a B-17 bomber, to his family and friends. When Aldo finds out that he must run a top secret bombing mission on a munitions depot near Naples, Italy, where his parents were born, raised, and married, he frets about what that might mean to his family there. Will any of them become collateral damage? While in the midst of chaotic treachery, the lives of his comrades are lost, and they make unimaginable personal sacrifices. Somehow, DiLorenzo manages to stumble into love. Sara is a beautiful, unattainable freedom fighter, but he worries that their differences and the continuing threat of war will keep them apart. He is on a treacherous journey to end the atrocities and false promises by the Nazis and the Fascists. Will love prevail despite the challenges of the times?
