歐內斯特·海明威（Ernest Hemingway，1899—1961），美國小說傢，1954年諾貝爾文學奬獲得者。1921年，在巴黎結識龐德等人；1922年，早期作品遺失；1923年，在巴黎齣版第一本書《三個短篇小說和十首詩》，受龐德鼓勵，寫下十八則片斷（前六則同年發錶於《小評論》）；1924年，將十八則片斷結集為第二本書在巴黎齣版，即《我們的時代》（in our time）；1925年，將十四個短篇小說和之前齣版的片斷集重新整理成書在紐約齣版，即《我們的時代》（In Our Time），此書成為其第一部傑作。之後，此書版權轉至“天纔的編輯”麥剋斯·珀金斯所在的斯剋裏伯納齣版社，再版時補入《士麥那碼頭上》（初為作者前言）。
